Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including free extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Disclosed
According to the formal announcement, "A mysterious confrontation draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned rituals and fearsome changes echo through the shadows." The narrative features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar experiments and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Transformations
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview finishes with a striking scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Extra Features
Players who accomplish the adventure will acquire an unique katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Content
This release also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a dramatic version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series previously featured a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
